Track Facts

Located east of Sebring in Florida in the United States, Sebring International Raceway held it's first race in 1950. The circuit itself is based on an old United States Army Air Forces training base where pilots would learn to fly the Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress between 1941 and '46.

Sebring International Raceway held the first 12 Hours of Sebring in March, 1952. The circuit has also held Formula One - playing host to the first Formula One Grand Prix in the United States in 1959.

Interestingly the course still (intentionally) runs on sections of the old WWII landing fields. These were constructed from large concrete slabs with large seams, making the ride rough as one drives from one slab to the next.

There are many different configurations of the circuit, both current and historically. The one shown here has the modified Sunset Bend that cuts in tighter than the previous layout that swings out and is raced in the 12 Hours of Sebring.
