Track Facts
Completed in 1999 and previously an airfield and the home of RAE Bedford, the circuit was designed by former F1 driver Jonathan Palmer as a corporate driving facility. Having being designed to be driven on by high performance road cars there are no safety barriers or concrete walls and the track has larger than usual run offs. The result: anyone driving beyond the limits will merely spin off into flat grass. This however meant there could not be any motor racing at the Autodrome!
The PalmerSports are a set of four circuits within the Bedford Autodrome, each hosting a specific vehicle, used on the PalmerSport driving event days. Their philosophy is to "not just permit, but actively encourage, guests to push right to the limit on every circuit in every car"! The more spacious run-off areas gives drivers the freedom to drive harder and faster than anywhere else in the world in safety - which sounds like a great way to learn to push your limits!
The PalmerSports West Circuit is 1.85 miles long and home to Formula 3000 and the Palmer Jaguar JP-LM.
